Adagio is a tea company that sells farm fresh artisan teas and innovative tea ware. As well as selling their own blends they have what is called Fandom Teas, where creators create their own blends that follow a theme, like Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Pride and Prejudice, Supernatural and so on, there are tons. A friend of mine sent me a link for Alyss Tea Party, which had teas created by Alissa Pyrich. I bought three samples from Alyss Tea Party, which each sample comes in a small sample tin and the cover sticker on each one was some type of artwork, one resembled medieval tapestry art. From looking at other fandom teas, most have some kind of neat artwork on their tins.
The Teas –
I actually quite enjoyed this tea. I could taste the orange and chocolate immediately. It was almost like eating one of those chocolate oranges, which I love. It tasted like it smelled and was quite refreshing. It was a pleasant drink to have in the morning while trying to wake up. I would definitely buy this one again.
This tea is a blood orange chocolate chai, it was a blend of Black Tea, Orange Peels, Rose Hips, Hibiscus, Cinnamon Bark, Ginger Root, Natural Orange Flavor, Cocoa Nibs, Natural Chocolate Flavor, Natural Cinnamon Flavor.
Elizabeth Danger Spice
I’m not quite sure if I liked this one. I got it primarily for the pumpkin spice flavor, yes I’m a pumpkin lover. But when I tried this I couldn’t taste any pumpkin. I pretty much only tasted the cinnamon and ginger, which wasn’t bad just not sure if I would say I liked it. It’s drinkable.
This tea is a spicy blend of gingerbread, pumpkin and caramel, it was a blend of Black Tea, Cinnamon Bark, Ginger Root, Natural Pumpkin Spice Flavor, Natural Gingerbread Flavor, Cloves, Natural Caramel Flavor, Orange Peels, Marigold Flowers, Cardamom.
Brita’s Viking Goddess Black
I made a mistake with this one. I was so blinded by the hazelnut in the description that I didn’t see that this was a smokey tea. The scent was intense and I was not a fan. I don’t like the smell of burning wood and that’s what this smelled like. Tasting it was even worse. I will say after a while I got used to the smokey taste, but it was after a lot of sips. There was no hint of hazelnut which made me sad because I love hazelnut. This is one that I don’t think I can finish, so I pretty much wasted my money. I’m not saying that not everyone will like this, if you like smokey flavors than you will probably love this.
This tea is a smokey black tea with a hint of hazelnut, it was a blend of Black Tea, Lapsang Souchong, Yunnan Jig Tea, Wuyi Ensemble Tea, Natural Hazelnut Flavor.
Tea Sample – Masala Chai
This was unexpected, maybe I missed that my order came with a tea sample but it was a nice little surprise when I opened the box. This smelled amazing and similar to the Black Masala tea that I received in one of my Tea Runners boxes. It also tasted similar. I did enjoy it but it is a tea that I have to be in a specific mood for.
Our Masala Chai tea blend combines premium Ceylon black tea with cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and ginger. In Indian culture, ‘Masala’ means ‘a blend of spices’, and ‘chai’ simply means ‘tea.’ So, Masala Chai is literally ‘spiced tea’. Our interpretation tries to stay true to its definition thanks to a warm and inviting fragrance, zesty flavor, and invigorating, aromatic finish.
Overall I was very happy with my purchase from Adagio. I’m definitely interested in trying other tea creations. I love the little tins that the tea comes in with the little pictures on the front, it was nice aesthetically. I will say that it was quite annoying though trying to get tea out of these tiny tins into a teaspoon, sometimes it got messy. If you want to try some unique and themed tea creations you should try some Fandom Teas from Adagio.
As a final note I want to add that I know I’ve been pretty slack when it comes to this blog. Now that summer is over and my oldest is back in school I’m hoping I can get back into blogging. If you enjoy my reviews, be it tv or tea reviews, then I promise there will be more soon. I’m also thinking about moving into book reviews too. Of course I will also continue with my random pop culture blogs. I want to thank all those who enjoy reading my blog posts and I hope you continue to enjoy them!!
Till next time…
